Frequently asked questions

How are places rated?

Places are rated by remote workers on key criteria that matter for productivity: WiFi speed and reliability, power outlet availability, noise level, seating comfort, and food quality. These ratings are crowdsourced from people who have actually worked from these locations.

Are the WiFi speed ratings accurate?

WiFi speeds are self-reported by users who ran speed tests while working from that location. Keep in mind that WiFi speeds can vary by time of day and how busy the venue is. We recommend running your own speed test when you arrive.

What does the noise level rating mean?

The noise level rating is on a 1-5 scale where 1 means "library quiet" and 5 means "very loud." If you need focus time, look for places rated 1-2. If you prefer ambient noise, places rated 3-4 might be perfect.

How can I submit a rating for a place?

Click the "Rate for workers" button on any place card to submit your own rating. Your ratings are saved locally in your browser and help other remote workers find great spots to work from.

Why is my location not being detected?

Location detection requires your browser's permission. If you denied it previously, you can enable it in your browser settings. Alternatively, you can manually search for any city or address.

Can I save my favorite places?

Currently, your ratings and favorites are saved in your browser's local storage. This means they'll persist on the same device and browser, but won't sync across devices.

What types of places are shown?

We show cafes, coworking spaces, and libraries - the three most common types of places remote workers use. You can filter by type using the filter buttons above the results.

Is this free to use?

Yes! This tool is completely free. It's designed to help remote workers, freelancers, and digital nomads find the best places to be productive away from home.
