Who owns my data in Plutio?
You do. Always. Your business data belongs to you, not us. We store it and keep it safe, but it's yours to access, export, or delete whenever you want.
There's no lock-in. You can export all your data at any time without asking permission, without waiting for approval, and without paying extra. Standard formats (CSV, PDF) that work with other tools if you ever want to switch.
When you delete data, it's deleted. We don't keep hidden copies. When you cancel your account, you get a grace period to export everything before it's removed from our systems.
How is my data protected?
Everything is encrypted - both when stored and when transferred.
- Encryption in transit - All connections use TLS 1.3. Data moving between your browser and our servers is encrypted.
- Encryption at rest - Data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256.
- Secure infrastructure - We use enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with regular security audits.
- Access controls - Team members only see what they need. Clients only see what you share with them.
Your client contracts, financial records, and files are protected with the same level of security banks use.
Can I export all my data from Plutio?
Yes. Anytime you want. Export your:
- Clients and contacts (CSV)
- Projects and tasks (CSV)
- Time entries (CSV)
- Invoices (PDF, CSV)
- Proposals and contracts (PDF)
- Files (download directly)
Standard formats that work with spreadsheets, other business tools, or whatever you need them for. No approval process, no waiting period, no extra fees.
What happens if I cancel my Plutio account?
Your data stays accessible during a grace period so you can export everything.
Nothing disappears overnight. When you cancel, you get time to download your clients, projects, invoices, contracts, and files. After the grace period ends, data is deleted from our active systems and then from backups on a standard retention schedule.
If you ever want to come back, you can start fresh or contact us about data restoration during the backup retention window.
Is Plutio reliable for invoicing and payments?
Payments process through Stripe, Square, and PayPal - the same payment gateways used by millions of businesses worldwide.
Your invoices send reliably. Payment processing works consistently whether your clients are local or international. Transaction history stays in your account for as long as you need it.
We don't hold your money. Payments go directly to your connected payment account. Plutio just facilitates the connection and keeps records.
Is my client data shared with anyone?
No. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to train AI models.
The only third parties that see any of your data are:
- Payment processors (Stripe, Square, PayPal) - to process payments your clients make
- Email delivery services - to send invoices and notifications you trigger
- Cloud infrastructure - where data is stored (encrypted)
All of these are bound by data processing agreements. Your client data is not used for anything except running your Plutio workspace.
How reliable is Plutio?
Plutio is designed for business-critical operations. Invoicing, payments, and client portals need to work when you need them.
We use redundant infrastructure so single points of failure don't take the system down. When maintenance is needed, we schedule it during low-usage hours and give advance notice when possible.
If something does go wrong, we communicate directly about what happened and what we're doing to fix it. No vague status pages that say "investigating" for hours without updates.
