Totals
Thank you for trusting me with your matter
A legal receipt records who paid, what the payment was for, what was charged, and the total due or received.

A payment comes in for a legal matter, and the next step is getting the record right so nobody has to argue later about what was paid, what it covered, or when it happened. This legal receipt gives that paperwork a fixed place to land, so the numbers and the wording don’t get rebuilt under deadline pressure.
The receipt keeps the structure tight: the buyer sees the totals first, then the note underneath that closes the loop with “Thank you for trusting me with your matter”. Magenta headings in Raleway keep the page feeling procedural, and the teal accent pulls attention to the one action that matters when payment still needs collecting.
Once the receipt sits in Plutio, you fill in the totals, send it to the client, and collect payment online if you’ve connected a payment method.

Totals | The Totals block holds the amounts for the receipt, so you swap in the right figures before sending. |
Thank you for trusting me with your matter | The written section carries the closing note that sits under the numbers, so the receipt reads like a complete record rather than a bare total. |

A legal receipt should name who paid, what the payment was for, the amounts charged, and the total paid or due. This template gives you a totals block plus a closing note under the figures.
An invoice asks for payment, while a receipt records a payment that was made. If you need the request instead of the record, use an invoice.
A client can pay online if you’ve connected a payment method before you send the receipt. If no payment method is connected, the receipt still works as a record of the totals.
You need a client to send the receipt to, and the correct totals for the matter. Online payment also requires a connected payment method.
A retainer receipt usually records the amount received and what the payment relates to. This template gives you a totals area to enter the figures and a short closing note underneath.
A receipt can record the total paid, but it doesn’t set pricing for legal work. The total you enter depends on the fee agreement and the work billed for that matter.
