Common questions about workspaces, accounts, and how things are organized.
What is a workspace?
A workspace is your business environment. It holds all your projects, tasks, invoices, clients, conversations, and files in one place. Each workspace has its own subdomain (e.g., yourcompany.plutio.com), its own team members, and its own settings. Think of it as your company's home base. For more details, see Workspace settings.
Can I have multiple workspaces?
Yes. You can create as many workspaces as you need. Each workspace runs independently with its own clients, billing, and data. You'll use the same email to log in, and you can switch between workspaces from the account menu. This is useful if you run separate businesses or want to keep client work isolated.
What's the difference between a team member and a client?
A team member is someone who works with you. They can access internal tools, manage projects, send invoices, and collaborate on tasks. A client is someone you do work for. Clients get a limited view where they can see shared projects, approve proposals, sign contracts, pay invoices, and communicate with your team through their own portal. You control exactly what each client can see. Learn more at Users and team.
How do I switch between workspaces?
Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open the account menu. If you belong to more than one workspace, you'll see them listed there. Click the one you want to switch to, and you'll be taken to it instantly.
Where do I find my workspace URL?
Go to Settings > Fundamentals. Your workspace URL is displayed at the top. It follows the format yourcompany.plutio.com. You can also set up a custom domain if you'd like to use your own.
Can I change my workspace subdomain?
Yes. Go to Settings > Fundamentals and update the subdomain field. Keep in mind that changing it will update your workspace URL, your client portal link, and any shared links. Make sure to notify anyone using the old address.
