Our goal is simple: we arrive within the agreed window, walk the route and plan you approved, send the update, and leave your home secure.
This document covers the practical stuff that keeps weekday service steady: meet-and-greet steps, keys and entry, weather and safety calls, and how billing and cancellations work.
Scope of work
Each session is one midday dog walk at your home, starting with safe entry, leashing up, and a walk on the agreed route, then water refresh (if you ask), a quick check-in, and a locked-up exit. Session length, walk type (solo, small-group, puppy potty-break, or senior slow-walk), and how many visits you have booked are set in your accepted schedule or membership period, along with any gear notes you give us (harness, treat pouch, towels by the door).
Payment
Midday dog walks are paid in advance. If you book single sessions, we invoice when you book them. If you book a membership or other recurring term, we invoice at the start of each period, before the walks in that period take place.
Every invoice is payable within 7 days of its date. We keep your recurring schedule active as long as the account stays current. If an invoice goes past due, Alyssa DeLuca (Scheduling coordinator) will reach out to sort it quickly, and we may pause upcoming walks until the account is brought up to date.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel or skip a booked walk, tell us as early as you can so we can rework the route. The notice window is set by the owner and applies to recurring midday dog walks the same way each week.
If you cancel inside that notice window, or if we arrive and cannot complete the walk because no one can provide access or your dog cannot be handled safely that day, it is treated as a late cancellation or a no-show. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged at the fee set by the owner, because that time was held for you. If we ever need to cancel (for example, a staffing or safety issue), we will message you as soon as we know and we will reschedule or credit the visit.
Membership use
Your recurring plan works like this: you book a weekly schedule, and the visits for that schedule come out of the membership period we invoice at the start of each period. Unless the owner sets a different rule in writing, membership visits are used within the period they are billed for.
If you need to pause service for travel, a hospital rotation change, or a temporary change at home, tell Alyssa DeLuca so we can confirm what happens to any unused visits and how billing will work during the pause. Refunds are not automatic for unused visits, because we staff and route around recurring time blocks. When refunds are available, they are handled using the rules set by the owner and confirmed with you in writing.
Everyday risks
Dog walking has normal risks even when everyone does their part. That can include slips on wet stairs, icy sidewalks, surprise noises, another dog reacting, a harness clip failing, or your dog pulling hard or refusing to move.
By booking midday dog walks, you are choosing to have us handle your dog and enter and exit your home for this purpose. We will use reasonable care, follow your written notes, and make safety-first calls in the moment. This section is not a waiver for carelessness on our side. It also is not a promise that nothing will ever go wrong. If something happens, we will focus on getting your dog safe, then update you with what we saw and what we recommend changing for the next visit.
Your dog’s care
You agree your dog is healthy enough for the booked walk type, is current on routine vaccinations your vet recommends, and is on consistent flea and tick prevention when seasonally appropriate for your area and lifestyle. Before we start, tell us about anything that changes how we should handle the walk: bite history, fear triggers, dog reactivity, escape attempts, guarding behavior, medical conditions, mobility limits, or medications.
You give us permission to seek veterinary help in an emergency when we cannot reach you quickly. Any vet costs, treatment costs, and related transport costs are your responsibility. We will use the vet and emergency contact you provide in your written intake, unless an urgent situation requires the closest available care.
Keys and entry
Before day one, we will do a lock-up walkthrough and confirm entry steps in writing, including any buzzer timing, tricky locks, and where we should and should not go inside. Keys are signed in and out in our key log. If you use an entry code or building access system, you will share it with us in a direct message or in person. Do not leave it in public notes. We store access details so our team can follow the same steps every visit.
Let us know ahead of time if anything changes, like a new lock, a stuck door, construction blocking the entry, a broken buzzer, or a different unit door in a triple-decker. If we cannot get in at the booked time, we will contact you right away. We will wait a reasonable amount of time based on the route and the arrival window, then we may need to move on to the next visit. If access fails, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation or no-show under the owner’s rules.
What this is not
Midday dog walks cover walking, basic check-ins, and reporting what we saw. We can do simple routine tasks you’ve approved in writing as part of the visit, like refreshing water, wiping paws, or a brief medication check-in for seniors, as long as it is safe and clear.
We are not providing veterinary care, diagnosis, or medical treatment. We are also not providing behavior modification or training with guaranteed outcomes. If your dog is showing signs of illness, pain, injury, or a serious behavior concern, you agree to contact a veterinarian or qualified trainer/behavior professional, and we will share what we observed to help you make that call.
Ongoing schedule
Midday dog walks are booked as recurring service. Your membership bills at the start of each period, before the walks in that period take place, and your walk schedule continues period to period unless you or we end it.
Because your time slot affects routing for other clients, any change to your recurring days, walk type (solo versus small-group), or arrival window needs to be confirmed in writing by Alyssa DeLuca. To stop recurring service, you agree to give the notice period set by the owner. We will confirm your end date in writing, and we will explain how any already-invoiced visits will be handled under the owner’s rules.
Ending service
You can end this arrangement by giving the notice period set by the owner in writing (email or message is fine). We will confirm the last scheduled walk, what happens to any already-paid visits, and the plan for key return.
We may also end service if we believe sessions have become unsafe or unworkable. Examples include repeated access failures, an undisclosed bite history, a dog that cannot be safely leashed or handled with the current plan, or conduct in the home that puts our walkers at risk. If we end service for safety reasons, we will tell you what led to the decision, and we will handle any remaining paid sessions under the owner’s rules. Keys will be returned using the same sign-out process used at pickup.
