In brief
You’ll have a car that starts, stops, steers, and runs the way it should, plus a written estimate you can trust because every extra item is priced and approved before it’s added.
You’ll know what’s urgent, what can wait, and what it’s likely to cost before I fit any extra parts. If something changes mid-job, I stop and price it with you first, because “while we’re in there” work is only work you’ve approved. If you want to go ahead, I book the slot and line up parts as early as I can so your car is not sitting waiting.
I start with checks that narrow the fault fast: an OBD scan with live data, a road-test when it’s safe, and a hands-on inspection of the area involved. I confirm wear or leaks by showing you the part on the car, then I write the estimate in plain line items so you can say yes to the fixes you want, in the order that gets you safely back on the road.
What happens on the day
I work in a simple sequence: confirm the fault, quote it clearly, then fix what you approve and show you what changed before you pick up.
1. Check and confirm Day 1 Run an OBD scan and live-data check, then do a visual and hands-on inspection around the symptom area. If it’s safe, do a short road-test to reproduce the noise, vibration, pull, or brake feel. 2. Write the estimate Day 1 List the likely causes, the parts and labour needed, and the order of repair. Show you worn pads, leaking hoses, play in a ball joint, or contaminated fluid on the vehicle, then confirm what you want done first. 3. Repair and replace Day 2-3 Carry out the approved work such as engine service and tune-up, brake pads and discs with fluid service, suspension bushes or ball joints, cooling system repairs after a pressure test, or clutch and manual gearbox troubleshooting. 4. Test and handover Same day Recheck for leaks, warning lights, and fault codes, then road-test to confirm braking, steering, and engine response. Walk you through what was replaced, what I found, and what can be planned for later.
Written repair estimate
An itemised estimate for general auto repair showing parts, labour, and the order of work. Any optional items are shown separately so you can approve them or leave them.
OBD SCAN REPORT
A note of fault codes found and the key live-data readings I used to confirm the issue. If codes are cleared, I note why and what was done to prevent a return.
INSPECTION NOTES AND PHOTOS
Short notes, and photos where useful, of worn or leaking parts found during the check, such as brake pad thickness, fluid condition, hose leaks, or play at a joint.
Parts and work record
A list of parts fitted and work completed, including oil grade and filter part, spark plugs if changed, brake parts replaced, or cooling components replaced.
ROAD-TEST AND SAFETY CHECKS
A recorded pre-handover check covering warning lights, braking feel, steering pull, abnormal noise, and basic fluid leak check after the car has reached operating temperature.
PRIORITY LIST FOR LATER FIXES
A short list of items that are not urgent today but will need attention, with the reason for each and a rough timing, so you can plan instead of guessing.
Pricing
These figures cover the checks, the written estimate, and the repair work listed below. If I find anything outside this scope, I’ll price it in writing before I do it.
Priced items
Optional extras
Add these only if they make sense after the Day 1 checks.

Get started
If you want me to hold a slot and start the checks, here’s what I need from you so I can begin work without delays.
1. Sign this proposal to approve the estimate process for general auto repair. 2. Pay the 25% booking payment so I can schedule the job and order parts where needed. 3. Drop the car off or arrange handover, then I’ll start the Day 1 checks.

Booking and payment
To book the work, you’ll pay 25% of the accepted price when you sign. The remaining 75% is due when the job is finished. Each invoice is payable within 14 days of its date.
Changes to the work. If I find anything outside the written estimate, I’ll stop and price it in writing before I continue. I only go ahead with extra work after you approve the updated estimate.
Parts lead time. Parts availability sets the timeline. If a part is not available in Nairobi the same day, I’ll tell you the options and expected wait before I order or fit anything.
What I need from you. Please leave the vehicle with enough fuel for a road-test, and share any warning lights, noises, or recent work you know about. If I can’t reach you to approve changes, the job pauses.
Safety to drive
If you ask whether it’s safe to drive until a certain day, I’ll answer based on what I can confirm during the Day 1 checks. If brakes, steering, or cooling are unsafe, I’ll tell you not to drive it.
Handover and records. At handover you’ll receive the OBD scan report, inspection notes and photos, and a parts and work record. I keep a copy so I can match future symptoms to what was done.
Ownership of parts. Any parts I remove and replace can be kept for you to see at pickup if you ask before the job starts. New parts remain mine until the final payment is made.
