Brand teams need product photos that hit a launch date and still match the label colour and finish customers will see in real life. When the colour comes back wrong or reflections change from SKU to SKU, the reshoot lands right when the clock’s already running. This product photography proposal puts the workflow in writing first, then backs the price with the steps that keep the look consistent, in bill of lading blue with fired clay orange accents under Raleway headings.

The proposal starts with What this covers, then introduces the studio in A bit about us and Meet the team, followed by Recent work and Portfolio so the client sees the kind of consistency being promised. The production section gets specific about a Shot list and reference lock, a Test set and lighting approval, and what happens on the main shoot day, because “we’ll fix it in post” doesn’t protect a label, a bottle, or a metal finish. Booking and payment spells out the deposit, balance timing, what inputs need to arrive before the shot list gets locked, and how sign off controls changes.

  • What this covers Explains the catalogue workflow, how the shot list and references get locked, and how the test set approval protects colour and finish before the full run.
  • Pricing Lists the Catalog Pack as the priced option, which means you replace the template price with your own before you send it.
  • Shot list and reference lock Captures SKUs, angles, usage, references, and intake checks so changes don’t creep in halfway through the shoot.
  • Test set and lighting approval Defines the test set approval step and the flow from main shoot through proofs, selects, retouching, and final delivery.
  • Booking and payment States the 30% deposit on signing, the 70% balance on final handover, invoice terms, and the rules around inputs, approvals, and variations.

The Pricing section keeps everything in a single Catalog Pack, then the client signs in Get started and the template totals the fees automatically so the only numbers you swap are your own prices before sending.

We went from spending hours on every proposal to creating fully customized ones in under 5 minutes. That's not an exaggeration - we timed it.

Get started

Carries the signature and fee summary, and reiterates what’s included in the final image pack and exports.

Shot list and reference lock

Covers SKU and angle confirmation, reference gathering, sign-off on the shot list, and the intake and prep checks for incoming products.

Test set and lighting approval

Explains the test set step and what gets approved, then outlines the flow from main shoot through proofs and finals.

Booking and payment

States the 30% deposit and 70% balance invoicing points, payment terms, required inputs, product condition responsibilities, and approval gates.

Who it is for

Product photography studios quoting catalogue and e-commerce shoots for brand managers who need consistent colour and finish across a SKU range on a deadline.

The proposal in full

What this covers

You end up with a repeatable catalogue look across every SKU, with colour and finish that match what customers receive, delivered in file sizes your listings and your designer can use immediately.

We’ll plan the shot list, lock references, run a test set for your approval, then shoot and retouch to the agreed look. You’ll get a consistent image pack you can publish without a reshoot. If you’d like to move ahead, we’ll start with the shot list and your reference set.

We run product photography like a launch: we agree the shot list and references first, we show you a test set before we commit to the full run, and we keep colour and finish consistent with calibrated viewing and written notes. That way the main shoot day is production, not guessing.

A bit about us

We’re Fitzroy Photo Studio, a Singapore product-only studio built for brands that need a full image pack on a deadline. Amelia Fitzroy leads the camera and lighting, and we run the work through one studio team so the look stays consistent from the first test frame to the final export.

Most reshoots happen for two reasons: the shot list changes midstream, or colour and finish were never signed off at the start. We prevent both with a reference lock, a test set you approve, and colour notes our retoucher follows frame by frame, especially on labels, metals, and glossy packaging.

Meet the team

You’ll have one point of contact for scheduling, and the same core crew from intake through final colour.

Team

Amelia Fitzroy, Lead photographer. Lead photographer. She builds the lighting to match your reference, then keeps it locked so each SKU drops into the same look.

Marcus Lim, Studio manager. Studio manager. He runs bookings, studio prep, and the shoot day flow so products, props, and files stay tracked and on time.

Yeo Jia Wen, Producer. Producer. She owns the shot list, intake checklist, and approvals, and keeps questions tight so you can sign off fast.

Nur Aisyah Rahman, Retoucher and colour lead. Retoucher and colour lead. She matches label colour, skin-care whites, and metal finishes to the approved test set before final exports.

Recent work

Here are three recent shoots that show how we keep catalogue sets consistent while still matching each brand’s finish and tone.

Portfolio

Skincare white-sweep pack. Shot a 28-SKU range with matched label colour and consistent specular highlights across pump bottles and tubes. Delivered PDP-ready files plus a marketplace crop set so the listings could go live as one batch.

FMCG multipack refresh. Re-shot a mixed carton lineup where older images didn’t match new packaging. We rebuilt the lighting to hold foil and matte areas together, then delivered a unified set for three sales channels.

Jewellery macro set. Photographed 14 pieces with macro detail while keeping stone colour consistent. We used fixed camera height and repeatable light positions so new arrivals can be added later without the set drifting.

“Colours matched our packaging, and the files dropped straight into our listings.”

Brand manager, a multi-SKU skincare importer

Deliverables

* New SKU launch pack. A 36-SKU personal care range needed a single catalogue look across Shopee, Lazada, and Shopify. Their older images had warm whites, shifting label blues, and reflections that made the bottles look different from SKU to SKU. * What we changed. We locked a reference frame for white balance, label colour, and highlight shape, then shot a 6-image test set across different bottle materials for approval. After sign-off, we ran the full shoot with the lighting and camera position fixed. * What it delivered. The client published 36 SKUs in one upload window. The set held consistent whites across the range, and the retouching time dropped from about 25 minutes per image to 14 minutes per image because the source frames matched.

Pricing

Choose based on how many SKUs you need shot and how tight the finishes are to match. These tiers price the same workflow, scaled by volume.

Priced items

Get started

You’ll receive a complete image pack organised by SKU, with versions sized for listings, ads, and design.

1. Retouched images per the approved test set: consistent colour, clean labels, controlled reflections. 2. High-resolution masters (suitable for web and design uses) delivered per SKU and angle. 3. Web-ready exports sized for Shopify product pages and fast loading, named to match your SKU list exactly.

Shot list and reference lock

We start by confirming your SKUs, angles, and usage. You send your existing best-performing images or references, plus any brand colour notes. We return a shot list for sign-off so nothing is guessed mid-shoot.

PRODUCT INTAKE AND PREP CHECK

When products arrive, we log quantities, check labels for scuffs, clean where safe, and flag anything that will show on camera. If something needs a fresh unit, we tell you before the set is built.

Test set and lighting approval

We build one lighting setup and shoot a small test set that includes your trickiest finishes, usually 4 to 8 images. You approve colour direction, highlights, shadows, and framing before we move into the full run.

MAIN SHOOT DAY, RETOUCHING, AND DELIVERY

The main shoot runs to the approved set, then retouching follows the same notes. First proofs usually go out within 2 business days after the shoot, and finals follow after your selects and any notes are confirmed.

Booking and payment

To book the work, we invoice 30% when this proposal is signed. The remaining 70% is invoiced when we hand over final files. Each invoice is payable within 14 days of its date.

What we need from you. Before we lock the shot list, we need your SKU list, angle requirements, usage, and reference images or brand colour notes. Delays in these inputs move the schedule by the same amount.

Product drop off and condition. You’re responsible for delivering products to us and for providing shoot-ready units. We’ll log quantities, check for scuffs and label damage, and flag issues that will show on camera before the main run.

Approvals and sign off. We start the full run after you approve the test set for colour direction, highlights, shadows, and framing. Changes after that point count as a change to the approved set and are handled as a variation.

Variations

If SKUs, angles, or the agreed look changes after the shot list is signed off, we’ll confirm the impact on time and cost before we proceed. We don’t continue on guesses that create reshoots.

Retouching notes. Retouching follows the approved test set and your written notes. If you need a different finish level partway through, we’ll pause, show an updated sample, and wait for sign-off before applying it across the set.

File delivery. We deliver proofs first, then finals after your selects and notes are confirmed. Final files are released after the 70% balance invoice is issued, so delivery and payment stay in step.

Ownership and usage. Once paid in full, you own the final delivered images for your product marketing. We keep the raw captures and working files as our production archive, and we don’t release them as deliverables.

Questions about this proposal template

What should a product photography proposal include?

A product photography proposal usually includes the workflow, deliverables, pricing, approval steps, and booking and payment terms. This template also covers shot list and reference lock, test set approval, and how variations get handled so changes don’t turn into reshoots.

How do you agree on colour and finish before a full product shoot?

A proposal can spell out a reference lock and a test set that gets approved before the full run starts. This template describes calibrated colour direction, written notes for retouching, and sign off on highlights, shadows, and framing.

How many images per SKU should be priced?

The count depends on the angles, usage, and the finishes that need matching, which is why the shot list matters. This template puts the SKU and angle requirements into the shot list and confirmation steps before the main shoot is approved.

What do brands need to send before the product shoot starts?

The inputs typically include a SKU list, angle requirements, usage, and reference images or brand colour notes. This template also states that delays in those inputs move the schedule by the same amount.

What payment terms are normal for product photography?

Many studios take a deposit to book the work, then invoice the balance on delivery. This template states 30% is invoiced when the proposal is signed, 70% when final files are handed over, and each invoice is payable within 14 days.

How do you handle changes after the shot list is approved?

A proposal can require confirmation of time and cost before work continues, rather than guessing mid-shoot. This template covers variations in SKUs, angles, and finish level, and pauses for updated sample approval if the look changes during retouching.
