Somebody wants to walk out looking like themselves, just better, but the worry is a cut that won’t sit right at home or colour that turns warm in strong daylight. A hair salon proposal gives that decision a clear shape before any booking gets held, so the client can read the plan, see who they’ll be with, and agree the terms without guessing. The pages sit under Raleway headings with Inter body text, with indigo and teal accents that keep the tone steady and controlled.

The proposal starts with The short version, then moves into About us and Who you will work with so the client understands how decisions get made and who checks the shape and colour as you go. What a session looks like spells out the consult, sectioning, and stage checks in plain language, and Can you keep my length and still give it shape? answers the questions that usually decide a visit, including sun-warmth and frizz. Payment and Adjustments close the loop on what gets paid in advance, what happens with cancellations and no-shows, and how you handle a tweak after the appointment.

  • The short version Opens with the outcome you’re aiming for, then describes how the consult and check-ins keep the cut and colour on plan.
  • What a session looks like Explains the appointment flow, including the consult, agreeing the shape and colour direction, and checking before anything drifts.
  • What it costs Holds the single priced service item, so you replace the template price with your own before sending.
  • Getting started Collects the signature and shows the fee summary, so the booking gets confirmed with the terms attached.
  • Payment and Adjustments Spells out pay-in-advance, invoice due window, cancellations and no-shows, plus what happens if something feels off after a few days.

The What it costs section carries the pricing, then Getting started is where the client signs and confirms the booking details. Once the proposal is accepted online, the same link works as the record of what was agreed, with your prices and terms already attached.

We went from spending hours on every proposal to creating fully customized ones in under 5 minutes. That's not an exaggeration - we timed it.

The proposal in full

The short version

You walk out looking like yourself, with a cut that holds its shape and colour that reads right in daylight, plus a simple plan for keeping it that way between visits.

We’ll start with a consult, agree the plan, then cut and colour with checks at each stage. You’ll leave with hair that sits well in wind and sun. Next: pick your services and preferred dates below.

We start by listening to what you like about your hair, what you never want, and what has or hasn’t worked before. Then we agree the shape and the colour direction, choose a formula, and stick to it through the appointment, with timing checks and mirror checks so nothing drifts.

About us

We’re a small salon team in Arles, and most new clients come to us for one of two reasons: a move and a new job, or an event that’s close enough that there’s no room for guessing. We built Rue Mistral Salon around one habit that keeps people coming back. We talk first, we decide together, and we keep checking as we go.

We’re picked for consistency. We write down what we agree in the consultation, we mix colour with measured formulas so the next visit matches the last, and we time processing by what we see at the bowl, not by the clock alone. If you want a big change, we’ll say what it takes and what it risks before we start cutting or mixing.

Who you will work with

You’ll see the same faces each time, and you’ll know who is doing what before we start.

Team

Camille Roche, Salon director. Camille is our salon director. She runs your consultation, keeps the plan tight, and steps in on shape and finish checks when timing is critical.

Élodie Martin, Senior colourist. Élodie is our senior colourist. She handles colour history, formula choices, application, and the small adjustments that keep blondes from going brassy.

Julien Morel, Stylist. Julien is our stylist. He focuses on sectioning, clean lines, and cuts that sit right when you let your hair air-dry or rough-dry at home.

Sarah Dubois, Keratin and finishing specialist. Sarah is our keratin and finishing specialist. She handles smoothing services, blow-dries, and the product choices that keep frizz down in the mistral.

“They listened, explained the plan, and the colour looked right in daylight.”

What a session looks like

A cut and colour appointment happens in-salon. Plan on 2 to 4 hours depending on the services you pick and your hair length and density. Come with photos if you have them, plus a note of any colour you’ve used in the last year.

1. Consult and plan First 15 minutes We talk through your hair history, what you like, and what you do not want to change. We agree the shape, the colour direction, and the maintenance level. If you’re working to a date, we’ll choose an option that stays predictable as it grows out. 2. Cut and sectioning Before colour We section your hair for clean lines and even colour placement. If we are keeping length, we’ll show you where the new shape will sit before we commit. We cut in a way that supports how you style at home, not just how it looks leaving the chair. 3. Mix, apply, check During colour We mix colour in measured amounts and apply in controlled sections so the tone stays even from roots through mid-lengths to ends. During processing, we do visual checks and strand checks where needed, then rinse, shampoo, and condition at the bowl. 4. Finish and plan ahead Last 20 minutes We blow-dry and finish the hair the way you’ll wear it, then we check the shape and tone in the mirror together. We’ll tell you what to book next and when, and which at-home products matter for frizz, shine, and tone.

What it costs

Most cut and colour appointments land in the middle option below. We’ll confirm the right fit after the first 15 minutes of consult and planning.

Can you keep my length and still give it shape?

Yes. We’ll agree what “keeping length” means in centimetres, then build shape through internal layers and the perimeter. We’ll show you the line before we cut, and we’ll check it again after the blow-dry.

WILL THIS COLOUR GO WARM IN THE SUN, AND HOW DO WE STOP THAT?

It can, especially with lightened hair. We manage it by choosing a tone that stays stable, lifting only as far as your hair will hold, and finishing with a gloss or toner when needed. We’ll also give you a simple at-home toning routine.

How often will I need to come back for roots or toner?

Most root retouches land around 4 to 6 weeks, and most toners land around 4 to 8 weeks, depending on your shade and how you wash. Before you book, we’ll tell you what schedule your choice usually needs.

WHAT DO YOU USE FOR HAIR THAT FRIZZES IN THE MISTRAL?

We start with how your hair behaves when it air-dries, then choose a routine: moisture for dryness, light hold for flyaways, and heat protection if you blow-dry. If frizz is persistent, we can also talk through a keratin smoothing treatment and upkeep.

Payment

Sessions are paid for in advance: a single session when it is booked, and a pack before its first session. Every invoice is payable within 14 days of its date.

Cancellations. If you need to move your cut and colour appointment, tell us as early as you can. Our cancellation notice window, and any late-cancellation fee, are set by the salon and confirmed when you book.

No shows. If you miss your appointment without notice, we hold that time for you and can’t refill it. Any no-show fee is set by the salon and we’ll tell you the amount before we take payment.

Timing. We’ll start with a 15-minute consult and plan, then cut and section before colour, then mix, apply, check and rinse, then finish and plan ahead in the last 20 minutes. If we’re running late, we’ll tell you.

Adjustments

If something feels off once you’ve lived in your hair for a couple of days, get in touch and tell us what you’re seeing. We’ll book a quick check and agree the next step together.

Packages. If you choose a pack, it is paid before the first session and used for the services listed in that pack. Any expiry period, and the rules for rescheduling pack sessions, are set by the salon.

What this is not. Hair services can’t come with a guaranteed result, because hair history, porosity, and sun exposure change how colour takes and fades. We’ll explain the plan and the likely upkeep before we start.

Questions about this proposal template

What should a hair salon proposal include?

A hair salon proposal usually covers the plan for the consultation and service, who will do the work, what the session includes, the price, and the payment and adjustment terms. This template also includes client questions about length, warmth in sun, roots and toner timing, and frizz.

Does a salon need a proposal for cut and colour appointments?

A proposal helps when the hard part is agreeing the plan and the rules before any slot gets held. The document puts the session flow, pricing, and payment and cancellation language in one place the client can accept online.

How do you write payment terms for salon services?

Payment terms need to say when payment is due and what happens if the appointment gets moved or missed. The Payment section in this template states pay-in-advance, an invoice due window, and separate notes for cancellations and no-shows.

What information should a client see before agreeing to hair colour?

A client normally wants to see how the colour direction gets agreed and how you check progress during the appointment. The proposal explains the consult, the formula decision, and timing and mirror checks, plus notes about warmth in daylight and upkeep.

How do you handle adjustments after a hair appointment?

An adjustment policy should explain what to do if something feels off after living with the hair for a couple of days and how the next step gets agreed. The Adjustments section covers booking a check and also states limits on guaranteed results based on hair history and porosity.

Can a client accept and sign a salon proposal online?

Yes, this proposal includes a signature section so acceptance happens online. The Getting started section pairs that signature with a fee summary, so the agreed price and terms stay attached to the acceptance.
