A client wants to feel like themselves when they stand up from the chair, but the scary part is the mismatch between what got asked for and what actually happens. The Salon Proposal proposal gives the client a clear read on the cut and colour session before money changes hands, in a layout that uses patinated-copper green accents with Lora headings over Roboto body text.

The proposal opens with The short version, so the client sees the result you’re aiming for and how you’ll check in as you go. About us, Who you will work with, and Team spell out how handoffs work across cutting, colour, and finishing, then What a session looks like explains the chair-by-chair flow, timing check-ins, and what gets confirmed before length or tone changes. What it costs, Payment, and Adjustments cover packs, paying in advance, invoice timing, cancellations and no-shows, plus what happens if something feels off when the hair is dry, leaving less room for “I thought you meant…” later on.

  • The short version Summarises the result you’re aiming for and the check-in approach, so the client knows what gets confirmed before big changes happen.
  • What a session looks like Describes how the appointment runs, including early mirror check-ins, timing confirmation, and the cut and colour steps.
  • What it costs Holds the priced item, which means you swap in your own number before you send the proposal.
  • Payment States when sessions and packs get paid, plus the invoice due window and the basics around scheduling, cancellations, and no-shows.
  • Getting started Carries the acceptance and signing step and the fee summary, so booking, timing constraints, and prepayment get agreed in writing.

In Plutio, you replace the price on the 3-session pack, send the proposal, and the client accepts and signs online from wherever they open it. Once the proposal is accepted, both sides have the same written reference for timing, payment expectations, and how adjustments get handled.

We went from spending hours on every proposal to creating fully customized ones in under 5 minutes. That's not an exaggeration - we timed it.

What to include in a salon proposal

PartWhat it covers

What it costs

How long is this going to take door to door?

The proposal in full

The short version

You leave with hair that sits right when it’s dry, color that reads the way you expected in daylight, and a finish that holds up through your next meeting, photos, and the wind outside.

You reached out because you need it handled without a long consult and without losing time you don’t have. We work with check-ins at the mirror, clear timing, and adjustments while it’s still fixable in the chair. If you’d like to go ahead, we’ll book a time and collect your service payment to hold it.

We start by agreeing on what stays the same and what changes, then we work in small, visible steps. We dry cut and shape-check before we commit to length, we place color where it matters on your part and hairline, and we tone with the final lighting in mind. You’ll see each stage before we move on.

About us

We’re a salon team built around the two things clients ask for most: a cut that still feels like them, and color that looks right outside the front door. Over the years we’ve tightened our service down to repeatable steps: dry shape checks, clean sectioning, careful timing, and a finish that shows you what the hair will do day to day.

People come to us when they don’t want surprises. We keep the consult short but specific, we talk in plain terms, and we check in before we take length, before we shift tone, and before we call it finished. If something feels off once it’s dry, we adjust it that day, while you’re still here.

Who you will work with

You’ll be looked after by the same core team throughout your haircut and color, with clear handoffs between cutting, color, and finishing.

Team

Marisol Alvarez, Salon manager. Marisol runs the floor, keeps your timing on track, and makes sure your appointment starts and ends when we said it would.

Tessa Nguyen, Senior stylist. Tessa handles cutting and finishing, with dry shape checks so the length and movement match what you see in the mirror.

Jordan Blake, Colorist. Jordan mixes and applies color with a focus on hairline, part line, and tone in natural light, so it reads right outside.

Andre Williams, Barber stylist. Andre takes care of clipper and fade work, with clean outlines and neckline detail that still looks sharp as it grows out.

“They checked in as they went, and I left looking like myself.”

Project manager, back-to-back meeting schedule

What a session looks like

A haircut and color session happens in the chair, usually in one visit. You can bring reference photos if you have them, and it helps to arrive with your hair worn the way you normally wear it. We’ll confirm timing before we start and keep you updated as we go.

1. First check-in First 10 mins We confirm what you want to keep, what you want to change, and what “done” looks like to you. We’ll look at your parting, your neckline, and how your hair sits when it’s dry. If you have a time you need to be out the door, we plan the service around it. 2. Cut and shape check Before color We start with a dry cut and a shape check so we don’t take off more than you meant. You’ll see the length and outline before we commit. For clipper and fade work, we set the baseline, then refine the blend and neckline detail once the shape is locked in. 3. Color placement Mid-session We choose between root retouch and all-over color based on what’s grown out and what you want to see in the mirror today. If foils are part of your plan, we keep placement intentional around your face and part line. We watch timing, rinse when it’s ready, then glaze for tone. 4. Finish and adjust Last 20 mins We blow-dry with a round brush so you can see how the cut sits when it’s finished, not just when it’s wet. We check the shape from the front and sides, then make any same-day adjustments while the hair is dry. You leave once it looks right to you.

What it costs

Most people start with a single haircut and color session, then switch to a pack once the timing and upkeep feel right.

Can you keep the length and still take the weight out?

Yes. We’ll agree on the length first, then remove weight from the inside so you keep the outline you’re used to. We do a dry shape check before we take more, so you can see what’s changing while it’s happening.

DO I NEED A ROOT RETOUCH OR A FULL COLOR?

It depends on what you want to see when you leave. If your ends still look good and you mainly see growth at the roots, a root retouch usually fits. If the mid-lengths and ends have shifted, we’ll talk through an all-over color.

How long is this going to take door to door?

We’ll give you a time range when we book, then confirm it again when you sit down. Timing depends on hair length, density, and whether you’re doing a root retouch, all-over color, or foil placement. We’ll keep you posted as we go.

IF I DON’T LIKE IT WHEN IT’S DRY, CAN WE ADJUST IT TODAY?

Yes. We plan time at the end for a dry check and small adjustments. If something feels off in the shape or the finish once it’s dry, we’d rather fix it while you’re here than send you out hoping it settles.

Payment

Sessions are paid for in advance. A single session is paid when it is booked, and a pack is paid before its first session. Every invoice is payable within 14 days of its date.

Scheduling. When we book, we’ll give you a time range for your haircut and color and confirm it again when you sit down. If we need to adjust the plan mid-visit, we’ll tell you before we start the next step.

Cancellations. If you need to cancel or move an appointment, tell us as early as you can so we can offer the time to someone else. Our notice window and any late-cancellation fee are set by the salon.

No shows. If you miss an appointment without notice, we hold that time as used. Any no-show fee and the rules for rebooking after a missed visit are set by the salon, and we’ll tell you before we charge anything.

Adjustments

We plan time at the end of the visit for a dry check and small adjustments. If something feels off once it’s dry, say so in the chair so we can adjust it while you’re here.

Packs. Pack sessions are used for haircut and color visits only, and they’re shared across the same services you booked them for. Whether a pack expires and how we handle unused sessions are set by the salon.

What this is not. Haircut and color is a salon service, not medical care, and we can’t promise a specific outcome on a specific timeline. We’ll make clear recommendations, check in often, and adjust the plan based on what we see.

Questions about this proposal template

What should a salon proposal include?

A salon proposal usually includes what the appointment will cover, who will be doing each part of the service, what it costs, and how booking is confirmed. This template also includes payment terms and what happens if the hair needs adjusting once it’s dry.

Do clients need to sign a salon proposal before booking?

A signature isn’t legally required in every place, but a signed proposal gives both sides a shared record of the plan, the price, and the policies. This template includes a signing step in the Getting started section.

How do you price a salon service pack in a proposal?

A service pack gets priced as a single line item so the client sees one number for the pack. This template includes a priced item called “3-session pack,” and you replace the amount with your own pricing before you send it.

Can a salon proposal cover adjustments if the client doesn’t like the result?

Yes, a salon proposal can explain how you check the work when it’s dry and what you’ll do if something feels off before the client leaves. This template includes adjustment language in both the timing Q&A and the Adjustments section.

What payment terms belong in a salon proposal?

Payment terms usually say when payment is due, whether sessions are prepaid, and what happens with cancellations and no-shows. This template states advance payment for sessions and packs, includes an invoice due window, and spells out scheduling and cancellation expectations.

Is this the same thing as a bridal hair proposal?

A bridal hair proposal focuses on wedding-day services and the run-up to the event, but the structure is similar: scope, pricing, timing, and acceptance. This salon proposal is written around haircut and colour sessions and packs rather than wedding-only services.
