Files in projects and contacts
Every project and every contact has its own Files tab, which surfaces all files relevant to that project or client without needing to search the main file manager.
Project files
The Files tab inside a project shows every file uploaded to that project, including files attached to tasks within the project. Uploading a file to a task automatically makes that file visible in the project's Files tab, so all project-related files are accessible from one location.
Project files follow the project's access settings. Anyone with access to the project, whether a team member or a client, can see the files in the project's Files tab. Sharing files from within a project doesn't require generating a separate public link, because project access already controls visibility.
Contact files
The Files tab on a contact record pulls together files from across that client's history. Files from linked proposals, contracts, invoices, and conversations all appear in the contact's Files tab. Instead of searching through individual projects and conversations, the contact Files tab gives a complete file history for a specific client in one view.
How project files and contact files connect
Files uploaded to a project that has a client assigned also appear in that client's contact Files tab. The same file shows up in both locations without being duplicated, so organising files in the project keeps the contact record up to date automatically. Files attached to proposals, contracts, and invoices linked to a contact also surface in the contact's Files tab, which means every document exchanged with a client is accessible from their profile.
