Sending proposals
Proposals reach clients by email or through a direct shareable link. Either way, the client opens the proposal in a branded portal where the content, pricing, and signature blocks appear exactly as designed in the editor.
How to send a proposal by email
- Open the proposal you want to send from the proposals page or from within a project.
- Click the "Send" button in the top-right corner. The send dialog opens with an editable subject line and message body.
- Edit the subject and message (optional). You can customize both fields before sending to match the client or project context.
- Select the recipient. Choose the contact who should receive the proposal email.
- Click "Send". The client receives an email with a "View Proposal" button that opens the proposal in your branded client portal.
If you've configured a custom email domain (via SMTP or Gmail OAuth), the email sends from your domain instead of Plutio's.
View tracking
When a client opens a proposal, Plutio logs the view event with a timestamp, so you can see exactly when the client opened the proposal and decide whether a follow-up is needed.
The branded client portal
Proposals open in a white-labeled portal that carries your branding, not Plutio's. The portal displays the proposal content with the signature block ready for the client to sign. View tracking tells you whether the client has opened the proposal, so you can time follow-ups based on actual activity.
