Gmail integration for inbox
Gmail accounts connect through Google's OAuth sign-in, which means no manual server settings are needed. Once authorised, emails sync into your inbox, replies go out through Gmail, and drafts stay in sync between both platforms.
Connecting a Gmail account
From Settings → Inbox, selecting the Gmail option opens Google's sign-in flow. After authorising access, the account links to your inbox and starts syncing. The entire process takes a few seconds, with no IMAP or SMTP configuration to deal with.
Email sync and threading
Incoming Gmail messages appear as conversations in your inbox. Email threads are preserved, so a back-and-forth exchange with a client reads as a single conversation with replies stacked chronologically. New emails arriving in Gmail show up automatically, and the sync works both ways: replies sent from your inbox go through Gmail, so the client sees your regular Gmail address as the sender.
Draft sync
Drafts created in your inbox sync back to Gmail, so a reply started here can be continued in Gmail and vice versa. Partially written replies aren't lost if the composing session is interrupted or continued from a different interface.
Labels and statuses
Gmail labels don't transfer into your inbox, but conversations can be tagged with your own status system instead. Custom statuses like "Open", "Waiting", or "Resolved" can be applied to email conversations the same way they're applied to direct messages and channels. Gmail integration brings email into the same inbox as messages and website chat, so all client communication is handled from one screen.
