Custom statuses
Custom statuses replace or extend the default status options on projects and conversations. Each status has a name, colour, and position, and automations can trigger based on status changes, so workflows adapt to match how your team actually operates.
Where custom statuses apply
Custom statuses are configured for two areas: projects and conversations. Projects might use statuses like "Discovery", "In Progress", "Under Review", and "Completed". Conversations might track "Open", "Awaiting Reply", "On Hold", and "Resolved". Each area manages its own status set independently.
Creating and ordering statuses
Statuses are created from Settings → Projects. Each status is given a name and a colour, and the position can be rearranged by dragging. The order controls how statuses appear in dropdowns, filter menus, and board columns. Default statuses can be renamed to match your terminology without losing their built-in behaviour.
Statuses as automation triggers
Status changes work as automation triggers. When a project moves from "In Progress" to "Under Review", an automation can notify the reviewer, create a review task, or send a client update. Because statuses are custom, the triggers match your specific workflow labels rather than generic defaults.
Filtering and sorting by status
Status acts as a filter and sort criterion in list views and custom pages. Projects can be grouped by status in board view, filtered to show only active work, or sorted by status order. Custom page widgets can also pull data by status, so a chart can show project counts or values broken down by each custom status.
