Notification settings
Notifications are configured per channel and per event type, so each team member controls exactly what reaches them and how. Three channels handle delivery: in-app, email, and push notifications.
Notification channels
In-app notifications appear in the notification bell at the top of the workspace. Email notifications arrive in the member's inbox with a direct link to the relevant item. Push notifications surface on desktop and mobile when the workspace isn't the active window. Each channel can be enabled or disabled independently for every notification type.
Notification types
Notification types cover activity across the workspace:
- Assignments: when a task, project, or entity is assigned to a member.
- Status changes: when a project, task, or invoice changes status.
- Comments and mentions: when someone comments or mentions a team member by name.
- Due date reminders: approaching or overdue deadlines on tasks and projects.
- Payments: when an invoice is paid or a payment fails.
- Proposal views and approvals: when a client views or signs a proposal.
- Form submissions: when a form receives a response.
- Conversation replies: when a new message arrives in a conversation.
Per-member preferences
Each team member configures their own notification preferences from account settings. Granular control means a team member can receive push notifications for mentions but only in-app notifications for general status changes, keeping high-priority alerts visible without inbox noise.
Changes to notification preferences take effect immediately and don't affect other team members' settings. Each member's configuration is independent.
