How to connect Square
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Square.
- Click "Connect with Square." You'll be redirected to Square's OAuth authorization page.
- Log in to your Square account and authorize the connection.
- You'll be redirected back to Plutio. Square shows as an active integration and appears as a payment method option when configuring invoices.
The OAuth flow handles all authentication, so no API keys need to be copied manually.
How Square payments work
- Enable Square on an invoice. A card payment option appears when clients open the invoice link.
- The client enters their card details directly on the invoice page. There's no redirect to another site.
- The payment processes at Square's standard fees.
- The invoice status updates to "paid" automatically, and the payment is logged with the amount, date, and method.
Multi-location support
Square accounts with multiple business locations let you select the specific location when creating an invoice. Payments and reporting on Square's side attribute to the chosen location, keeping transaction records accurate for businesses that track revenue by branch. Single-location accounts assign the location automatically with no extra step needed.
How to disconnect Square
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Square.
- Click "Disconnect." Square is removed as a payment option on your invoices and forms.
You can reconnect at any time by going through the OAuth flow again.
