Emails landing in spam or junk folder
Emails sent from Plutio's default servers (@plutio.com) are optimized for delivery. But once you connect your own custom email, delivery depends on your email provider's configuration.
What to check
- Test your email setup : use mail-tester.com to identify what's missing.
- Add SPF records : SPF tells receiving servers that your email provider is authorized to send on your domain's behalf. Your DNS provider's documentation will show you how to add a TXT record.
- Set up DKIM : DKIM adds a digital signature to your emails, proving they haven't been tampered with. Your email provider should give you the DKIM records to add.
- Set up DMARC : DMARC builds on SPF and DKIM. Use dmarc.postmarkapp.com to generate your DMARC record.
Why this matters
When you use a custom email, emails are sent through your provider : not Plutio's servers. If SPF, DKIM, and DMARC aren't configured, receiving email servers may treat your messages as suspicious and route them to spam.
