Custom domain not working after adding CNAME
If your custom domain isn't loading after you've added the CNAME record, work through these checks:
- Use the Verify now button : in Settings > Branding > Custom Domain, click Verify now to trigger an immediate CNAME check. Plutio also checks automatically every 15 minutes.
- Wait for DNS propagation : DNS changes typically take 15 minutes to a few hours. In rare cases, up to 48 hours.
- Verify the CNAME values : compare the host and target values shown in the setup checklist with what you entered at your DNS provider. The target should match exactly.
- Remove conflicting records : delete any old A records or previous CNAME records for the same subdomain at your DNS provider.
- Cloudflare users : if you use Cloudflare as your DNS provider, set the CNAME proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud, not orange). Cloudflare's proxy can interfere with SSL certificate provisioning.
- Check the setup checklist : the three-step checklist shows exactly where the process is stuck. If the DNS step is still active with a "Propagating..." indicator, the CNAME has not been detected yet.
You will receive an email notification when your domain is fully active.
