Calendar export
Calendar data can be shared with external calendar apps through an iCal feed URL or individual .ics file downloads. The feed keeps external apps updated automatically as events change, while .ics downloads capture individual events for one-off sharing.
iCal feed subscription
An iCal feed URL is generated for your Plutio calendar. The URL can be added as a subscription in Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any calendar app that supports iCal feeds. Once subscribed, events from Plutio appear in the external app and update automatically as events are created, edited, or deleted. The feed is read-only, so changes in the external app don't sync back to Plutio.
Individual .ics downloads
Individual events can be downloaded as .ics files. An .ics file is a standard calendar format that opens in any calendar application. Downloading an .ics file creates a snapshot of the event at that moment, so it's useful for sharing a specific event with someone who isn't a participant or for archiving event details outside of Plutio.
Feed vs sync
The iCal feed is a one-way export: Plutio events appear in the external app, but changes in the external app don't flow back. For two-way sync, Google Calendar integration is the right choice (covered on the Google Calendar Sync page). The iCal feed is best for apps that only need to display your Plutio schedule without editing it, such as Apple Calendar, Outlook, or a wall-mounted display.
The iCal feed updates automatically, so external calendar apps always reflect the current state of your Plutio calendar without manual re-exports.
