Video meeting links in events
Calendar events with a video location auto-generate a Zoom or Google Meet link at the moment the event is created. The link appears in the event details and in every participant notification, so the meeting room is ready before anyone needs to ask for a join link.
How video links are generated
When an event's location is set to "Video Call", Plutio checks which video provider is connected to your workspace (Zoom or Google Meet) and generates a unique meeting link through that provider's API. The link is specific to the event, with the correct date, time, and duration pre-configured on the provider's side. Each event gets its own meeting room.
Where the link appears
The generated video link shows up in three places: the event detail view inside Plutio, the notification email sent to all participants, and the synced Google Calendar event (when Google Calendar is connected). Participants can join the meeting from whichever location they see first, and the link is the same everywhere.
Zoom vs Google Meet
The video provider used depends on your workspace connection. Zoom generates a Zoom meeting link through your Zoom account. Google Meet generates a Google Meet link attached to the Google Calendar event. Only one provider can be active at a time, and the active provider is selected in your workspace settings.
Auto-generated video links remove the manual step of opening Zoom or Google Meet, creating a meeting, copying the link, and pasting it into the event. The meeting room is created the moment the event is saved.
