Task views - timeline view
Timeline view lays tasks out as horizontal bars on a date axis, Gantt-style. Each bar spans from a task's start date to its due date, so the duration and overlap between tasks are immediately visible.
Adjusting schedule and duration
Bars can be dragged left or right to reschedule a task without changing its duration. Resizing a bar from either end adjusts the start date or due date, which changes how long the task spans. Both actions update the task's dates automatically, so the timeline stays in sync with the underlying data.
Zooming and scale
The timeline can be zoomed in to see days and weeks, or zoomed out to show months and quarters. A shorter zoom level gives detail for day-to-day planning, while a wider view shows how an entire project or set of tasks fits together over weeks or months.
Dependencies between tasks
Dependencies link tasks together so one task can be marked as waiting on another to finish first. Dependency lines connect the bars visually on the timeline, which makes it clear when a task is blocked and what needs to be completed before work can continue. Adjusting a predecessor task's dates shifts the visual relationship on the timeline, so bottlenecks and cascading delays stand out.
Timeline view shows the full shape of a project's schedule, with overlapping tasks, dependencies, and deadlines all visible on a single axis.
