Public and private tasks
Tasks can be set to public or private, which controls who can see them within the project. Public tasks are visible to everyone with project access, including clients. Private tasks are only visible to the assignee and the project owner.
When to use private tasks
Private tasks are useful for internal work that clients shouldn't see. A task like "Review client's budget expectations" or "Prepare internal cost estimate" can be marked private so it stays visible to the team but hidden from the client's view. The task still belongs to the project and appears in internal reports, but clients with project access won't see the task on their board, list, or calendar.
Changing visibility
Visibility can be toggled between public and private at any time from the task detail page. Changing a task from private to public makes it visible to everyone with project access immediately. Changing from public to private removes the task from the client's view without deleting or archiving it.
