Task templates
Templates capture a task's full structure or a board's entire column layout, so repeatable work can be set up in one step instead of being rebuilt from scratch.
Saving and applying templates
A task template preserves the title, description, subtasks, custom field values, and checklist items from the original task. Creating a new task from a template pre-fills all of these fields, so the structure is ready immediately. Task templates are useful for recurring deliverables, onboarding checklists, or any task that follows the same format each time.
Board templates
A task board template captures the full board structure: task groups (columns), tasks within each group, and board-level settings. Applying a board template to a new project or workspace creates the entire workflow in one step, with columns named and ordered, tasks pre-populated, and the board ready to use. Board templates are especially useful when multiple projects follow the same pipeline.
Saving and sharing templates
Any existing task or task board can be saved as a template from its settings or detail page. Saved templates appear in the template library, where they can be browsed, previewed, and applied to new items. Templates can be shared across your workspace, so every team member has access to the same starting points.
The template library also includes community-shared templates from other Plutio users. Installing a community template creates a local copy that can be edited and customised without affecting the original.
Templates turn proven workflows into reusable starting points, so new projects and boards launch with the right structure already in place.
