Project invoices tab
Tracked time turns into invoice line items, and invoices created from within a project pre-fill with the project's client and details automatically. The invoices tab shows every invoice linked to the project, with status indicators for draft, sent, viewed, paid, and overdue.
Creating invoices from the project
New invoices created from the project's invoices tab automatically link to the project and pre-fill the client field from the project's assigned contact. Line items can be added manually, or pulled from the project's unbilled time entries. Each time entry becomes a line item showing the task name, hours worked, and billing rate.
Invoice statuses
Each invoice displays its current status: draft (not yet sent), sent (delivered to the client), viewed (opened by the client), paid (payment received), or overdue (past the due date with no payment). Status updates happen automatically as events occur, so there's no manual status management needed.
Converting time entries to line items
Time tracked on the project's tasks can be converted to invoice line items directly from the invoices tab. The conversion pulls in task names, durations, and billing rates, so line items arrive pre-filled and ready to review. Once converted, those time entries are marked as billed to avoid double-invoicing.
Going from tracked hours to a ready-to-send invoice removes the manual data entry between time tracking and invoicing.
