Online payments - Square
Square connects to your Plutio workspace through OAuth, and once authorised, card payments can be processed directly on invoices through your Square account. Businesses with multiple Square locations can select which location to associate with each invoice.
Connecting Square
The Square integration is set up from payment settings. The OAuth flow authorises Plutio to process payments through your Square account without sharing login credentials. Once connected, Square appears as a payment method option when configuring invoices.
Multi-location support
Square supports businesses operating from multiple locations. When creating or editing an invoice, the specific Square location can be selected, which means payment processing and reporting on Square's side are attributed to the correct location. Businesses with a single location are assigned automatically.
How Square payments work on invoices
When Square is enabled on an invoice, clients see a card payment option when they open the invoice link. The payment form accepts credit and debit cards, and the transaction processes through your Square account at Square's standard fees. Once payment completes, the invoice status updates to "paid" automatically, and the payment is logged with the amount, date, and method.
Square's multi-location support makes it a strong fit for businesses that operate across several locations and need payments routed to the correct account.
