Online payments - bank transfer
Bank transfer details can be added to any invoice, giving clients the option to pay manually via wire transfer, BACS, or direct deposit. The bank details appear on the invoice alongside any online payment methods, so clients can choose how to pay.
Configuring bank transfer details
Bank transfer information is set up in payment settings and includes the fields commonly needed for domestic and international transfers: account name, sort code or routing number, account number, IBAN, and SWIFT/BIC code. Not every field is required, so only the relevant fields for your bank and region need to be filled in.
How bank details appear on invoices
When bank transfer is enabled on an invoice, your bank details are displayed directly on the invoice page. The client sees the account information alongside any other payment buttons (Stripe, PayPal, Square), so all payment options appear in one view. No redirect or external page is needed, because the details sit right on the invoice.
Marking payment as received
Because bank transfers happen outside of Plutio, the invoice doesn't update automatically when funds arrive. Once the transfer clears in your bank account, the invoice needs to be manually marked as paid. Bank transfer gives clients a familiar, fee-free payment option, which is especially useful for larger invoices where card processing fees would be significant.
