Invoice block editor
The invoice block editor uses the same drag-and-drop interface as the proposal editor, so building an invoice feels identical to building a proposal. Blocks are arranged visually, and the editor layout is what the client sees when viewing the invoice.
Block types in the invoice editor
The invoice editor includes six block types:
- Line items: a service table with columns for description, quantity, rate, tax, discount, and amount. Multiple line item groups can be added to a single invoice.
- Text: rich text paragraphs for notes, payment terms, project descriptions, or any other written content.
- Image: uploaded images for logos, mockups, or reference visuals.
- Spacer: vertical spacing between sections for layout control.
- Page break: forces the next content onto a new page when the invoice is exported to PDF.
- Signature: an e-signature field where the client can sign the invoice digitally.
Rearranging and editing blocks
Blocks are repositioned by dragging them to a new location in the editor. Each block can be duplicated (creating an identical copy below), edited inline, or deleted. New blocks are added from a block picker that appears between existing blocks.
What the client sees
The block editor is a WYSIWYG layout. The arrangement of blocks, text formatting, images, and spacing all carry over to the client-facing view. When a client opens an invoice link, the invoice renders exactly as it appears in the editor, with payment buttons attached based on the configured payment methods. Because the invoice editor shares the same block system as proposals, teams that already build proposals can create invoices without learning a new interface.
